Wishlist Studio

Your bookmarks stay yours.

Privacy policy · Updated 26 October 2026

Wishlist Studio is a Chrome extension for viewing saved links as a visual wishlist and organizing a bookmark library. It requires no Wishlist Studio account and has no developer-operated data server, analytics, or advertising trackers.

What the extension accesses

To provide its features, the extension reads bookmark titles, URLs, folders, order, saved dates, and Chrome’s recorded bookmark-use dates when available. It reads product information and images from saved websites when you enable website access, or from an open matching page when you request a refresh. You can also enter names, brands, retailers, prices and currencies, and supply image URLs or upload photos.

What stays on your device

Your settings, selected folders, product edits, favorites, cached images, and opens recorded from Wishlist Studio are stored in your Chrome profile. The extension does not send this information to its developer, sell it, or use it for advertising. Chrome may separately synchronize your bookmarks according to your browser settings.

How Last opened works

Last opened uses the most recent of Chrome’s available bookmark-use timestamp and the time you opened the bookmark from Wishlist Studio. This local record supports sorting and reviewing older bookmarks. The extension does not request browsing-history access and does not monitor all pages you visit. “No recorded use” does not mean that a page was never visited.

When websites are contacted

If you allow website access, the extension retrieves saved pages and images directly from their websites. These requests omit cookies and referrer information, but website operators still receive normal network information such as your IP address and the requested URL. Remote page scripts are not executed by the metadata parser. Opening a bookmark visits its website normally in your browser, under that website’s own practices.

Automatic retrieval can be paused in Wishlist Studio settings. You can also revoke website access in Chrome’s extension settings. Local bookmark management does not require website access.

Bookmark changes and deletion

Actions such as renaming, moving, sorting, and deleting affect your actual Chrome bookmarks. In the manager, deletion is staged for five seconds with Undo beside the row’s delete button. After that window it is committed, including contents of a deleted folder. The pending action is stored locally so it can complete after refresh or closing the manager. Keep a backup of important bookmarks.

Backups and storage

Export saves a backup file to a location you choose. It can contain bookmark URLs, folder paths, product details, favorites, and cached photos. Protect that file as you would your bookmarks. Restore reads the file locally and creates a new bookmark folder. Removing the extension removes its local extension storage, including product edits and cached photos; it does not remove your Chrome bookmarks. Ordinary bookmark deletion removes the associated cached product record.

Optional support link

The “Buy me a guinness” button opens an external Buy Me a Coffee page only when you choose it. That service handles your visit and any payment under its own privacy policy. Wishlist Studio receives no card details and no payment data through the extension. Support is optional and does not unlock features.

Children and accounts

Wishlist Studio does not create user accounts or knowingly collect personal information from children on a developer server.
